چکیده

This paper explores modeling the adaptive mechanisms of autonomous agents. The focus is on reflexive interaction as a looping action that creates a “self.” Imitation and play are adaptive components of reflexive interactions that can provide gradual modifications of the agent’s self. Little by little, the autonomous agent reinforces what seems to work and phases out other options through an internal editing process. A performance metrics for reflexive interaction would have to depend on the task at hand within a context, rather than try to be an absolute measure. Evaluation of performance has to be flexible enough to account for multiple intelligences especially when innovation is possible.

Constructionist Design Methodology for Interactive Intelligences

plementing interactive intelligences. The constructionist design methodology (CDM)—so called because it advocates modular building blocks and incorporation of prior work—addresses factors that we see as key to future advances in AI, including support for interdisciplinary collaboration, coordination of teams, and large-scale systems integration. We test the methodology by building an interactiv...

Stimulating different intelligences in a congruence context

The paper deals with didactical scenarios on the notion of geometric congruence based on previous successful experience with using a specific model T which reflects the relations among structures, activities and intelligences (in the sense of Howard Gardner). The underlying idea is that different representations of the same object of study (Figure 1) enable the learner to use his/her strong int...

Architecture for an Adaptive and Intelligent Tutoring System that Considers the Learner's Multiple Intelligences

The majority of adaptive and intelligent tutoring systems (AITS) are dedicated to a specific domain, allowing them to offer accurate models of the domain and the learner. The analysis produced from traces left by the users is didactically very precise and specific to the domain in question. It allows one to guide the learner in case of difficulty and to offer her/him some support. This paper’s ...

Learning and Teaching through the Multiple-Intelligences Perspective: Implications for Curriculum Reform in Hong Kong

Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences and the multiple-intelligences perspective on learning, teaching, curriculum, and assessment are briefly described. Integral to this perspective are learning through engaging the full spectrum of student intelligences, teaching through multiple intelligences to emphasize enhanced understanding, employing multiple curricular options to foster learning t...

Multiple intelligences: Can they be measured?

This paper is about issues relating to the assessment of multiple intelligences. The first section introduces the authors’ work on building measures of multiple intelligences and moral sensitivities. It also provides a conceptual definition of multiple intelligences based on Multiple Intelligences theory by Howard Gardner (1983). The second section discusses the context specificity of intellige...
